Chief,
Congratulations on pleasing the better half.
I just bought a PM9 yesterday, and it will be here on Wed.. It's just the plain PM9 with night sights. (not much into the Rose theme) I like the Kahrs and now have the P380, PM9 and PM40, my son-inlaw has the PM45. Very good quality guns, super easy to take down and reassemble.

John.  Does that mean the PM45 is in your future?    :)  I know you have the Kimber.  Just curious.

Has anyone heard if the PM9 is picky about what it eats, like the R9 is?

Chief,
I have had no problems with either of the ones I have, that Jocko on the Kahr forum has 29,000 + rounds through his PM9, and says it shoots anything.
But I have read of people having issues with Wilsons, NightHawks, Ed Browns, as long as it's mechanical and made by people there is always the chance of problems. :o

I have over 6oo rounds through my PM9 without a single failure.  I had lots of partial boxes of reloads left from trying to find an accuracy load for my 952 Smith and I couldn't get it to fail with any of those.  I bought a PM380 because I liked the PM9 so well and it too is flawless.

My R9 went back home because the only thing it was reliable with was Blaser Aluminum and the barrel looked like it was rifled with a file.  I don't miss it.

Tech Support at Kahr called me yesterday to answer some Questions I had about the Black Rose.  I was told it is a total Custom Shop gun. Not just a slide change. She said all applicable internal parts were polished where beneficial and the slides are hand fitted to the frame, they do not just grab a premade slide and put it on. That is where the extra 30% cost comes from. She also told me if I wanted to get my wife a presentation slide with her name on it, it would run $400.00 .  All in all should be a nice gun, it is supposed to arrive today so we will see.
(If the Black Rose does not work out, may be heading towards Kimber Super Carry Ultra or Raptor Ultra, she like the looks of those)

Good luck, there, Chief, however, sounds like this could be an on going story.

Chief,
I picked up my PM9 a couple of days ago and shot it yesterday, I put 15 rounds of Federal 95gr. JSPs through it and 25 rounds of WWB, fed, fired and ejected perfect.
I think your wife should be well pleased with the look, feel and performance of the Black Rose.
