The original ones were made by IDM, and looked like this. They did not have the slot for the mag catch, and in my opinion did not look as good as the one I sell.

IMHO-- the IDM extensions are (were?) very nice but when I got John's new ones, I sold all 3 of my IDM ones. John's have the slot and his hooked ones are "contoured" or "rounded" at the end of the hook so they don't print as readily yet offer the same "grippability" as the IDM ones. (the end of the hook on the IDM ones are the same width as the body)
Both are very good-- I just like the shape of John's better.
