Robar233,
Thanks for the feedback. I am really glad you found my device useful. I like the Q-tip idea. Thanks!

Here is the site:

And Dave, I know the site is not ready yet, but you could probably remove the "recent site activity" page, it looks like internal admin stuff.

David,

I went to the link Joe posted, viewed the video, and ordered one. The way I figure it, your device, along with John's takedown tool, should prevent any more springs rocketing about my kitchen, ricocheting off the walls in search of my picture window. Thanks for a very well- devised piece of equipment.

Kindest regards,

Bill,
I just checked my PayPal and your order did successfully transact.

The site is not perfect yet, but it is capable of using PayPal.

Thank you for your order.

Now it's convenient, and at that price, there's no excuse not to get one, or two- one for the bench, and one for the range bag.

Barrel Cooler
« Reply #84 on: June 15, 2011, 01:48:17 AM »
I was thinking of the cool use for Davis's tool at the range after shooting, but my barrel is always too hot. I was in my basement looking at my lathe, so i decided to make a barrel cooler device to use before using Davids disassembly tool.  Any of you brothers with a lathe can make one very quickly.  I had a piece of some old acrylic round stock laying around that I turned down. I bored a cup in the end slightly larger than the barrel. You would put oil in, and stick the end of the barrel in to cool off. You just have to be careful the the barrel pin does not pop out.  This lets you cool the barrel before using David's tool. This is just a use for some old scrap you might have laying around.

If anyone wants the dimensions, i will send them to you.

I was going to look into getting a patent on this barrel cooler, but i just figured, nah, y'all can just go and make one if you want.  Once you handle a cool barrel, you won't want to touch a hot one again.

Yes, it works great, and took less than 5 minutes to make, including the measuring.

I thought it would, Joe.  From the pictures it tells the story.  Thanks.
