Having a gun in your hand is much more effective than having the entire police department on the phone!

I have never understood the American Derringer copies of the Semmerling.

The Semmerlings made no sense to me and they regularly bring $4K.  The ADC models are handmade stainless steel copies and the command as much.

I have seen and handled them, but I would have to believe they would be a fright to shoot.

What an impressive handgun. I'm sure it would hurt.

I've seen expensive gun that don't look expensive to my untrained eye. This one looks like it would be a "Gentleman/woman" carry piece of someone who likes craftsmanship and can afford expensive toys.

I wouldn't mind having grips like those for my R9.

Look them up on Google.  It is not a semi auto, you have to pull the slide forward to eject and reload.

Makes no sense.

The hand ejection caught be by surprise. I wonder how many other firearms have the feature (or lack of feature)?

I stubbled across a discussion saying they were originally sold for around $750 in the 1980's. If that's true, then that's a huge jump to over $4,000 today!

Supposedly that with practice the slide could be rapidly cycled.

I REALLY wanted one when they came out, IIRC they were more like $1,800 back then.

They WERE manufactured originally from S7 billet stock.

Years later I purchased an AMT .45 Back Up which weighs more. I fired one magazine of .45 Super Vel 190 gr ammo. And placed it up for sale. I decided I didn’t like the recoil.

Here you go, still not impressed.

My friend had an AMT 45 Backup and they are a POS.

If you need a 45 get a Springfield XDs or a S&W Shield, both nice guns and easy to shoot.

A manual loading derringer. . . . . Sorry folks, these never did anything for me. . . . . and now $4,000?! . . .  uhhhh ~ Nah. . . . .

Better to purchase a semi-automatic. . . . . It will do better for you under real situations and stress. . . . just saying.

Anyway ~ Happy Labor Day folks!

I think that even if the Semmerling LM-4 was cheaper than my R9S Stealth, I’d stick with the R9S!

Lighter, more rounds on board, and it’s semi-auto.

I can respect the design of the Semmerling LM-4, but it’s still rather odd, kind of like the Webley Fosbery, MBA Gyrojet Rocket pistol, or the turn of the Twentieth Century Mars Automatic pistols.
