Homemade Glock 43 Clone.

For those that are a fan of do it yourself projects and small pocket pistols this might be one for you.

I have done 80% firearms with varying degrees of success, but never one that looked this simple and easy.  Most require milling out a cavity or cutting rails in the polymer, this one does not and might be able to produce a professional looking result with minimal tools and skills.

If you are interested, the following three videos show you the process.

1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nzm7bqA-5EU

Not a value build as the cost is more than a new factory pistol.
$130 + $400 + $90 = $620

You can buy a factory frame cheaper, but that is like buying a new gun, 4473, transfer, etc.  For those that want a legal (in most states) non-serial numbered handgun for personal use (not resale), this might be the way to go.

Thanks for the post, Mike. I have been interested in this project but have shied away from it because of my marginal mechanical skills. This gives hope to us klutzes.

It also gives those in California a chance to own one (without the shady dealings with getting a 'used' one previously purchased by a LEO, for IIRC 3x the market price outside Cali.)

It is not made by Polymer80.  I looked at attempting one of their builds, but cutting those rails seemed to be daunting.  The video makes it seem to be doable for those of us with modest skills and tools.

I know a lot of folks on here are big G43 fans, hopefully one will give it a shot and pass on a honest unbiased report.

Interesting...
Having a gun in your hand is much more effective than having the entire police department on the phone!

Anyone remember an Internet gun site who called himself 'GUN KID?" He was the internets BEST jail house lawyer. He 'knew' every trick that skirted the law right on the edge. He quoted chapter and verse of every ATF publication.

He was the guy who said in a TEOTWAWKT situation the best solution is a .22 pistol and .22 rifle. He PLANNED to take his guns. ammo and supplies 100 miles, by wheelbarrow, to the Mississippi river. Take over a boat and work his way along the coast to South America.

Well short version is he got a little TOO close to the 'what's legal' line and crossed it. He got 10 years for making, and selling flashlight tube suppressors.

So Kevin you saying this is illegal and will get you in trouble???

Sound like your guy made illegal suppressors and got caught, like a lot of folks who dare to cross the feds for a variety of crimes.
