H&K Mod 4

I picked this pistol up yesterday.
It has all four barrels, 22, 25, 32, and 380.
Eric would like it as it was copied after the Mauser pistol. I have not fired it but it fits your hand like a glove. A neat and rare piece.

Beautiful piece! Looks a lot like the PPK

The HK4 was the first pistol that HK produced. It was modeled after the Mauser HSc which Eric says inspired the form of their R9.

That is an elegant gun, with a package that is a real keeper! Enjoy!

Many of the HK4's were used by German Police in 32 auto.
The Munich Olympics started the change away from the HK4 and brought on the P7 and the Sig 226.

Munich was similar to the April 11, 1986 FBI shootout in Miami that changed a lot of caliber thinking and strategy.

The 1986 Miami shootout was a bunch of FBI office boys against hardened criminals with ruger mini-14s. SWAT cops don't go up against street thugs with carbines.

SWAT teams may not have been the factor then that they are now. The Miami shootout changed a lot of response thinking and much more firepower and heavy calibers. The FBI jumped to the 10 mm before settling on the .40SW, not to mention M-16s, MP-10s, etc.
