Got to see him and Ann Margaret in Nam Christmas 68'. Traveled on one of the C130's we ran in country every other night. A great man, and now we have Gary Sinese doing some awesome things for our troops. R.

Bob Hope was truly one of the greatest Americans. We shall not see another like him.

Yes he did a lot for the troops.
It was kind of a bitter sweet day for me.I saw him at Long Binh Post, Christmas 1967. A great show, but was brought back to some reality about an hour later.
Just coming back to post TC Hill,10 trans.Co.7th Transportation battalion, that day,2 MP's in a jeep swerved to get out of the way of some locals.Jeeps were notorious for being top heavy. This one, like most, had an M60 mounted on the top, which made it that much more unstable.
it tipped and they were both killed.Sad for their families,I thought.
But,we had a lot to thank to the people who have gone to war zones to put a little cheer to the guys and gals of the armed forces.
I hope that kind of thing continues.
