That is bad news.  The longer a project sits, the more likely it is going to be abandoned.

I hesitated to post this unconfirmed info but thought it better than for the process to continue to drag on with no official announcement from Remington. At least parts and warranty repair work will be available from Williams Gun Sight Co. who does a lot of work for Remington products.
