What type of R9S do I have?
« on: September 03, 2014, 09:59:53 PM »
I'm seeing all these codenames of R9S's thrown about and I warrantied my R9S about a year ago and was sent a new gun (slide and frame).
Can you tell by the serial number if it's any "special" type?
Originally R308 (miss that low#) and now it's a R6365

Thanks

Consider yourself fortunate compared to the recent few who sit helpless with no warranty response. I don't think you can read anything into your numbers except that the factory replaced your gun and the serial number changed to a higher one. My experience has been that you received a superior gun to your earlier one because of the internal upgrades, etc.. You should not feel any remorse about losing the low number.

I've definitely received a superior gun. The changes were slight but definitely noticeable. Thank you for your fast response. Was just kind of wondering if my cool gun might be "cooler" than I thought.

Numbers, I also had a replaced slide and frame when  a grip screw had been glued in too tightly at the factory and stripped...The factory could not get it out and kindly replaced the frame without charge.  I now have a much higher number and a better pistol.  Welcome to the forum...hang around, no telling what you might see here!
