I would buy, but 115 gr. GD and ST works for me.       If I did not have 2 (over priced) boxes of 20
I would buy(to try), if 115 gr was not 100% flawless.

I recently purchased 1000 rnds of the Lawman 115 for practice although my preferred practice round is the 124.  The 115 worked perfectly in my R9.  I have shot 115GD through it before without problem.

I love hearing of those who use the 115gr.
It appears that many here like 124gr.
Karl R suggest  ST 115 gr.  as does my good friend and instructor.
Both GD and ST worked great for me.
Some of the ST's had dark splotches on head.
Edge of nose on GD's may look smother.(more rounded)
If I can return or exchange the 2 boxes of 124gr. GD's at Gander Mtn.(pretty far away)
then I will be more  inclined to try 124's
Has any one tried head to head test of GD vs. ST  or  115 vs. 124?
If I had any problems with 115 I would have gone right to 124.
Small guns should have lighter bullets?        (115's for me went to back of 6 inch of solid dry wood)

I still prefer and carry GD 124, but was happy to know that the 115's did well in my R9.  There has been discussion on the forum in the not-too-distant past about the relative merits of 115 vs. 124 vs. 147 and each seemed have advocates.

I have used 115gr and 124gr with equal success in the premium rounds such as  GD and HST. Recently, I read that the 147gr may tend to over stress compact pistols like the R9. Just food for thought without any scientific basis but whatever works best for you.

I guess I am the odd ball here, I have shot all the weights in my R9 and prefer the 147 out of them all. I don't think that the recoil is that much greater and for some reason it is easier for me to find when I can find the gold dots.

Did you notice any difference between 115/124

Every body is different. (maybe guns too)
I thought the GD's may have been snappier/more recoil but I attribute it shooting them 2ed,
more fatigue, 1 handed and faster.

I think that I prefer the 147gr because it seems easier for me to get, and works well in my other two favorite carries. Everyone has there own preference, I have tried the 115 and 124 but for some reason like the 147gr. Also my R9 only likes gold dots or Speer lawman and nothing else. I have never had a FTF or FTE with those rounds and they always lit of the first trigger pull.

It seemed to me that the 124gr shot slightly softer but not noticeably. I was mainly trying to compromise between the the 115 and 147. A lot of R9ers like the 147 but I just haven't tried it, probably because I had a cracked slide, not shooting the 147gr, and am very sensitive to the possibility of putting additional stress on the pup. My R9 has worked flawlessly since the slide was replaced and the upgrade of other internals like the extractor, ejector, etc., or whatever else they did to it. There is something to be said for using similar ammo weights between different pistols.

I had no GD124 with me when using the 115's at the range, but felt that the 115's were snappier than my memory of the 124's, banging my trigger finger if I had my glove off, something I experience less intensely with the 124 round.

I'm 100% confident in 124gr Gold Dots and 124gr Lawman TMJs in my R9

I'm with you on both but Federal HST 124 has recently risen to the top of my list.

The testing in bare gel & 4 layer denim out of a 3" barrel shows the HST to be a very good and very consistent performer.

I load the 147gr HSTs in my CM9.

I don't remember if I tested the 147gr HSTs in my R9, I'll have to review my shooting log.

I keep waiting for ShootingTheBull410 to test the RA9T out of a 3" barrel, but if he doesn't soon, I'm going to switch over to the 147gr HST.
