The pin that Remington uses is not near as tight as what you guys were doing.

They even caution against racking the slide with the left side facing down as it might fall out.

The only hand fitting I would do in this case is to sand down the pin....but not needed.  The Rohrbaugh pin just arrived and slipped in just fine.  The only functional difference is with the Remington pin you could just shake it out.  The Rohrbaugh pin requires a minor push (toothpick works).  Perfect!!!
