Warranty and Parts Availability Update
« on: May 14, 2014, 10:23:40 PM »

Eric Rohrbaugh has been at the new facility this week helping to set up the warranty repair processes in Pineville, NC.

I am told that Rohrbaugh Firearms is quite close to having this process complete.  The plan is that the phone system will be "live" and repair techs will be coordinating warranty repairs within two weeks of today.  The exact date is still not known, but will be announced here.

Furthermore, Rohrbaugh understands the importance of getting parts sales on line.  It is anticipated that telephone orders for recoil springs, grip screws and magazines will commence within the same two week period.  Availability of other parts will follow, but these particular items are being prioritized.

It sounds to me like things are moving quickly at this point.

I have also been told that Rohrbaugh already has a prototype of a (slightly) improved R-9 design that should go into production this summer.  We can all speculate on what the improvements made be, but I understand many of the changes were a result of Karl's input on the new design--which should be encouraging to all of us.

Great news, Duane, especially the news about warranty work, some parts availability, and the very important input of Eric and Karl. I just hope they pick up quickly on the dialect change from Long Island to Pineville.

Yes, there could be a language barrier.   ;)

Hello to all:
I am new on board, here. A month ago I purchased an R-9S Stealth (R6540). I was told it is Factory new. I received the R-9S with only the original Owners Manual. No original Dissassemble  Manual or Warranty. What alternatives might I have to find the history to this gun and if these pieces of missing literature are available? I do have a copy of the Disassemble manual but prefer an original. I am trying to verify that it was new from the factory gun. How do I know if I have a Stealth without the original warranty describing it as an R-9S Stealth?
Thanks for your help. Hope I am doing this correctly.

Lois,

Welcome to the forum - despite the current transitional period for the company you are in good hands here on the forum and I will do my best to help you out. I will try to tackle your questions one by one:

Missing Literature: I would post a listing in the classifieds section stating that you are looking for a disassembly manual. Someone there may be willing to send you an extra.

Warranty Card: If the previous owner sent it into the factory the gun you have will not be covered by warranty. Before the acquisition if you needed warranty work and were not the original owner you could pay $150 to transfer the warranty into your name and have the work performed. How this situation will be handled by the new owner is unknown for the time being.

How do you know if it is a R9s Stealth? If the gun has sights it is an "R9s" if there are not sights it is an "R9". If the frame and slide are both black it is a Stealth model - simple as that.

How do you know if it is factory new: This is hard and may be impossible and quite frankly may not matter if the gun was really well taken care of you would have a hard time telling one shot 50 times from a new one shot at the factory. Maybe others can help here.

Best of Luck,
Ryan

I have inquired, but no news yet.  I no longer have a direct connection to the factory... only an indirect one.
