Holster Recommendation for Hip Carry
« on: September 02, 2013, 02:55:09 PM »
Are there any users of the holsters available on the Rohrbaugh website who could make a recommendation:

I'm left handed, and looking for something like a Forbus--belt or paddle.

I ordered both an in pocket and hip holster from Bear Creek Holster and they are top notch. I find that I use the hip holster more than the pocket holster. The quality is some of the best I have seen and are almost under priced for what you get. Below is the link to the pictures I put in my other thread if interested. Good luck on your search.

I love carrying my R9 in this light weight Kydex paddle holster.
I'm so happy I connected here on the forum some time ago to this guy Dave that built it for me.
Here it is pictured on the right, on the left is a kydex pocket holster.

It sits tight to my body, retains the R9 real well, has plenty of room for me to grip when I need to draw. It is comfortable.

It is difficult for one person to recommend a holster to another due to the various aspects involved, such as personal preferences and individual lifestyles.  However, if you want to carry your R9 on the hip rather than in the pocket and protection of the weapon is a concern, you might consider a Model 27 Boxter from Haugen Handgun Leather.  I have one of the Boxters for a NAA Guardian .32 and use it occasionally as a backup to the R9.  Haugen offers the Boxter for the Rohrbaugh R9:

I bought one for the R9.  It was to large to use. JMO I have one for my Seecamp. It is much smaller as you would expect.

I bought one like this locally.   Some use and a little Galco holster lube made it perfect.

It was for r9.      Loops for belt way better than clip.

Have Milt Sparks make you one . You will have to wait a few months but it will be a great holster.
