Someday, I would like to own a Steyr Scout.  Saw one at the local Cabela's Gun Library but it was going for $2300 - way out of my price range.  I got my Ruger Gunsite Scout, 4 extra mags, Leupold scout scope, rifle case,  and 100 rounds of ammo for less than that. 

I had considered getting the Ruger 77/357 rifle and having a smith drill and tap a rail on the barrel for a forward-mounted scope.  Kind of on the fence between that and the 77/44.  I want to use it as a deer rifle and for plinking.  357 is cheaper and I get one additional round in the mag, but less powerful.  I've never hunted deer with a pistol cartridge before so not sure how much of a difference it would be.
