I think Glock is doing fine with PR.  I see a lot of ads.  Their SHOT booth is very crowded every year, despite the lack of "new models."  You see Glocks all the time on TV and in the movies.

As far as articles go, most magazines only devote space to new guns.  They aren't going to get a new piece every time one of their models gets the Gen 4 treatment.

Nonetheless, they dominate the law enforcement market.  The civilian sales are probably just the gravy.

For the record, Gen 2 is still my favorite.  I don't care for the finger grooves at all.

In that respect Taurus must be the ultimate innovator. Almost every time I look through a magazine it seems there is a Taurus article. There is nothing that talks like advertising revenue.

Taurus may have the most diverse product line of any handgun manufacturer.  They seem to have an impossible number of models.  While they started out as complete copy-cats, Taurus has been quite innovative in the past 5 years or more.  The innovations are not necessarily things that interest me, but it's still hard to deny they are making bold new things.

But, despite all that coverage and advertising, they are not perceived to be on the same level as Glock or Sig or S&W by most consumers.

Has anyone shot a Sig P224?

http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductList/pistols-p224.aspx

i held it at SHOT show, it's nice as long as the grips are the thin plastic standard ones. you have to have hands like a 1st baseman's mit to think the G10's are comfortable. The DAK trigger is nice too. I would stick with a P239 DAK though. seems to have a more natural fit, i have smaller hands though... :-[
