I attended the gun show (
www.okcgunshow.com) today and picked up two nice firearms. First is the gun that has had more than one thread created for it on here, the SW Governor. This was the only one at the show that I could find and my local FFL said that they are on back order from SW and it would be well after Christmas before he got any in so I went ahead and picked up this guy:
The second firearm is a Colt Detective Special First Series (manufactured 1932). I have had my eyes out for a good looking Detective for awhile now and when I saw the condition of this first series, I had to get it. I cannot find a single imperfection on this thing. I looked the gun over very closely and honestly I cannot even tell if this thing has ever been fired. If it has, it would only be a handful of times. The hammer looks almost brand new, barrel is perfect, cylinders are perfect, it is just incredible how clean this thing is.
I was able to wrangle an old Colt box from him because this one did not come with the original box. The box I got from him belonged to a Woodsman. He threw in the box with it. After walking the show a little more holding that old Colt box, I had several people ask me to buy just the box. I decided to keep it for now, but I will be able to get around $100 for it from what I have been offered today.
All totaled I gave him 1500 for both guns, blue book the guns are worth around 1900, his total asking price for both was 1725, and I got him to accept 1500 so I think I got out ahead on the deal.
