I took the plunge and purchased a used R9S.
I have been a Police Officer for the past 23 years and have searched for the "perfect" BUG. I have owned S&W snubbies, Kahrs,Seecamps,Walthers, Sigs,Paras, did I mention snubbies, and
have kept going back to the S&W J frames. Then I saved and acquired the Rohrbaugh.
The fit and finish was oh so nice and the slide and trigger were very smooth. The little pistol screamed craftsmanship.
The magazine is well crafted and slid in the grip effortlessly.
I took the pistol to the range, added a small piece of reflective red tape to the front sight and loaded the magazine. The pistol was fed WWB 147 gr and Winchester SXT 147 gr.
The perceived recoil was a bit snappy but controllable.
I had no problem at the 15 yard line and qualified.
I had intentions in going back to the J frame Smith if the R9 didn't work out but work out it did.
After searching for the elusive Excalibur I have found it in the form of the Rohrbaugh, the "perfect" BUG.
