Rohrbaugh R9 9MM Performance Compared to .380 ACP

Has anybody chronographed 9MM loads out of thier R9?  I am curious how much veloicty and energy is lost out of a 9MM round due to the short barrel of the R9?  Does the R9 lose so much velocity and energy due to its short barrel that it basiclly becomes a .380 ACP?  If anybody has chronographed 9MM loads out of your R9, could you please post your results?  I have a Ruger LCP, but am seriously looking to step up to a R9.  I would hate to spend the bucks for a Rohrbaugh R9 and find out after the fact that performance wise it really is not that much different from my current .380 ACP.

   First Welcome to the group.
If your asking if the short barrel 9mm is at 380acp standards, your LCP with it's short barrel is like a 32acp, and a short barrel 32acp is like a 25acp.
 When you compare a short barrel 9mm to a short barrel 380acp the R9 has more power than your LCP. Now if you were asking if the R9 has as much power as a 9mm 1911 with a 5" barrel the answer would be NO.
  I have a chronograph but have never fired the R9 over it.

I have read this earlier,and it goes to show you that the proper ammo used makes a difference in feeding and accuracy..

My carry pups group nicely with any of my chosen 115 grain fodder!!

I'm surprised the preferred ammo for the R9 wasn't included in the article, however, it does give some idea.

I would be interested in this too! I know it will preform superior to a typical .380, but by how much? Also, I would be interested in the comparison vs a jframe .38+p.

Nothing currently on the market will replace my r9, but I am still curious!

The Evan Marshall data can be seen here to compare.  It is dated but then so is some of the recommended loads such as the silvertip.

The article is interesting and well written, but it is as much about Blazer Brass being crappy ammo as it a review of the R9.  

It's sort of pointless to me as no one is likely to carry Blazer as a defensive round anyway.  YMMV...
