Robar Model???

Hello Y'all,

What is the consensus on the R9 Robar model?

Is it worth the $$?

I'm getting close to buying one of the R-9's.

"Worth" means different things for people.  I don't think it is worth it, but other forum members will surely disagree.

You can Robar a regular R9 and it will cost less. Check out the Robar site for the associated costs. They are currently offering 15% off the new NP3 plus finish. The cost of the NP3 plus finish will increase in April.

I really like the standard Titan Kote finish that comes standard.  Personally I'd pass on the Robar NP3 coating.

I had them do a HKP7M8 with the NP3 and it's a pistol that I take care of but it's a shooter and the finish has held up fine for 3yrs so far and I don't have to worry about rust and it is much easier to clean. :-/

   welcome, and the Rohrbaugh is a great choice weather it's stock or the Robar model. I purchased a regular R9 and sent it to Robar for the full treatment, frame , slide, barrel, mags and all the internals. Well worth the money to me, I like the looks and the ease of cleaning.

Hi Via,
 I went with the robars from rohrbaugh rather than getting r9s and sending then in to be coated myself. It would be cheaper to not have rohrbaugh do it, but I'm hoping that the marketing about rohrbaugh taking extra pains to send in their very best handpicked parts for the coatings will be worth the difference. Tom is taking care of my order.

The laptop with the emails from Tom on it is currently ill (virus corrupted disk), But I think he said that it would be about 6 weeks. Tom, feel free to correct me (and maybe resend me your email) :'(
