I bought a set from Curt and mine took some MINOR massaging to get them to fit perfectly, but definitely nothing major if your are the LEAST bit mechanically inclined. Especially for the price these are going for as opposed to the extreme pricing the OEM grips are going for. I haven't had a chance to shoot mine yet but I don't think it will be an issue,

Range report on Curt's CF grips.

I have the gloss grips, shot 50 rounds with the help of my son.  They held strong and never posed a problem.

The gloss surface was sticky to my hand and was a nice change from hard checkering of my aluminum grips.

They felt softer than my aluminum grips with less zing when I shot.

I always take the grips off when I shoot that much to clean, and found no problem in disassembley or assembley.

I did not have to countersink the grip holes and the new black screws look great on them.

By the way no FTF or FTE with all 50 being Winchester.

These are well made Re: New carbon grip fit

Hi All,

Here is a photo of Curt's grips.  The weave almost appears to have a 3D affect.  These grips are well made and they do change the appearance of the R9.

Those look great!    Thanks for sharing.

I must confess, when I originally saw those grips off of the gun, I thought that they would not look good, boy was I wrong.

That sure looks beautiful!
The Kevlar looks excellent along with the gold inlay on the slide.

Who did the gold work if I may ask?

The 'gold work' was provided by a kit that Brownell's sells made by Bonanza.  The kit also comes in silver.

I've been 'golding' my firearms for over 35 years using these kits.  Very inexpensive and easy to use.

I have a pair Curts of the Black CF grips and they fit fairly nice, but not perfect. With a tiny bit of handy work to the inside of the grips.. I would think they would be great.

The only issue I see has nothing to do with the grip quality, but rather with the safety of CF type grips. The grips are very very smooth and appear to be treated with a clear coat of some type. So when I reach for my weapon in my holster the grips tend to be a little slippery. Where as the factory grips etc have a tacky grooved finish.

My 2cents  :)

The "Glossy" style grips seem to be a tad less tacky than the Matte, Standard, and Kevlar grips.
That's the nature of polishing them to the high gloss that people request.
Personally, I've tried all the styles and have had no problem with the gun slipping any more then I did with the stock grips.
But, then again everyone's body chemistry is different.
I have relatively dry hands.

There is no clear coat applied to the grips.
The clear epoxy is very lightly sanded, buffed, then depending on the style, they're polished.

To me the stock G-10s are slick.

I much better prefer Curts grips (glossy).

Somehow, the moisture from my hands kind of "sticks" to that smooth glossy grip.
Whereas, nothing with the factory but sliiide.
