« on: August 26, 2009, 12:18:26 PM »
Just for information.  There's a new Robar on Gun Broker, Buy It Now, for $2400.  He says he has two consecutive numbered units in stock that he will sell as a set.  No relation to seller.

Another on on Gun Broker says Factory Robar/NP3 Finish, Buy It Now, $3200.  No relation to seller.

One also on GunsAmerica for $2200.  No relation to seller.

OUTRAGEOUS!  The Robar model is NOT discontinued.  If you want one, call up the factory and order it for $1,795.

Don't believe everything you read on Gunbroker!  ;D

I've purchased one handgun through Gunbroker.com with good results. However, one needs to do his research and exercise due diligence. With some sellers and transactions, it a lot like venturing into the Mile 12 market in Lagos.

The mile 12 market sounds like it may just be a notch below the
Khal el Khalili bazaar in Cairo.

It's just north of the Port of Lagos and is one of the largest open air markets in Nigeria. Rather like the proverbial "Alice's Restaurant" -- anything you want, you can probably find it there -- for a price (negotiable), of course. It's about as "wild and wooly" as it gets.

If I negotiated anything with a Nigerian I would just assume that I
would be the loser. A USAA insurance agent told me he had a friend
who was retired FBI and was consulting but full time was spent on
tracking Nigerian aliases in the U.S.. He said many of them would take
a course in Nigeria targeting credit card scamming here; they would
set up residence, get a driver's license, etc.. Then they would acquire
15 credit cards, withdraw $15,000 each and be on a plane back to Lagos
that same night.
No doubt, as in any society, there are both good and bad actors.
