Bought the stealth
« on: August 25, 2009, 01:51:15 PM »
Alright, so after weeks of agonizing over the Rohrbaugh or a pockt 380, I saw SIGQUICK had a stealth for sale on GB and in the classifides here, so I snagged it.

As I wait for it to get here in the next week or so, I want to get my related shopping done so I can work it out as soon as it arrives. Advice would be appreciated on the following topics:

1) I plan to exclusively pocket carry this guy - I know Desantis is popular for this need. Any other options I should be considering?

2) I prefer Speer Gold Dot for SD ammo as that's what the police use here. What's the general consensus on this round and the best weight for the R9? Also, does it handle +p?

3) Range ammo - I have a ton of WWB, Federal and Blazer. I'll play with all of them, but is there anything on the DO NOT TRY list I should be aware of?

4) Springs - I know they need changing every 200-250 rounds. Where's the best place to buy the springs and what type do I need?

5) Anything else???

Thanks in advance.

Desantis Nemesis from Rohrbaugh works well, but there are quite a few others. Meco is one of them. A quick search will bring up quite a bit.
If you do get the Nemesis, I recommend getting it direct from Rohrbaugh as they said they make that one exclusively for the R9

Gold dot is a good choice, 115 gr is what most recommend. Do not use +p as it does not handle it.

Best place to get the springs is direct from Rohrbaugh.

5) Anything elseHuh

Henry.  joker has covered it well.  I would add to the holster list, Meco pocket holsters and Hidden hosters.  You can look at them as follows:  mecopocketholsters.com and hiddenholsters.net.  Both are excellent.

Congratualtions on getting the Stealth.

Thanks - I'll check out those alternate holsters. The extreme grips on the Rohbaugh site look pretty nice too, thinking about those.

I don't have the grips, but for information,  be careful when changing them as the right one keeps the trigger spring in place.  Some here on the forum have had problems with screws coming loose, trigger spring not working properly.  Read the other threads on the forum concerning grips.

Henry, congrats on the stealth, check out the Meco and Hidden holsters as suggested, the Desantis Nemesis and even the Uncle Mikes will work, and I have one for my LCP but use a Meco now. To me putting a Rohrbaugh in a cloth or fabric holster is like using a blue poly tarp as a car cover on a Rolls Royce :o

Or using a potato sack to carry a Purdy to the field.    ;)

It's on its way, should have it early next week. I ended up getting the extreme grips, a few springs, and the desantis, as the other holsters take a few months. Thanks for the feedback, I'll report back on how it shoots.
