Hello everyone I have been reading this forum since I spent some hard earned O.T. money on a r9 stealth ordered back in Aug. Well I just picked it up yesterday and have been admiring it since.  I am not a very patient person and really had a difficult time waiting for this little gem but I am happy I did.

Thanks for the kind welcome. I ordered it in late Aug. of this year so it really was not that bad, I just was not sure how long it was goin to take which made it difficult. The only thing I am a little worried about is field stripping it, after reading some other forums it sounds tricky. Any advice from you veterans?

Rather than trying to hold the slide back with your hand and push the pin out, a small piece of wedge shaped hardwood or an old toothbrush handel trimmed to a wedge put between the slide and back of the barrel will hold the slide back while you push the pin out.

Thanks John, good info. . What about putting the guide rod assembly back in the slide, that is what seems to be causing people most problems. I probably just need to cowboy up and try it but I hate the thought of screwing up or scratching my brand new expensive firearm!. Thanks again for the help . Mick

Just take it slowly, be patient, and don't try to force anything back together. I remember when I first got my R9 some years ago, I had my wife lend a well-manicured third hand to the reassembly process a time or two as I worked my way along the learning curve.

Just wanted to clarify something, I don"t know why I said I ordered the stealth in Aug. I meant to say the first of July., I only have a computer at work so I am not the most computer savy person out there. Anyway I did field strip on my days off and am relieved to say it went pretty smooth , thanks to all that helped. Mick.
