Pups first pictures
« on: July 26, 2009, 09:40:05 PM »
Fat Boy you asked for them, you got them.
Here are pictures of the litter. An early R9s Famingdale with blue CF rips and a brand new R9s Stealth with black CF grips.

The Famingdale

and its sister the Stealth

Do we like the black CF grips with the black screws better than the stock grips?
I am pretty sure the collection is complete, now I just have to decide on which one to actually carry, any sugestions? Blue on blue days and black on black days?  LOL

Great pictures.  I'd carry the Stealth.  Just my opinion.  I'd look at the Farmingdale alot.  Both are great looking in their new attire.

Except the "early" Farmingdale is two tone or at least that is
the appearance; a very nice litter.

Wow nice guns and great pictures.  Do you feel the pictures are a good representation of the guns and especially the grips or is there a little of the luster lost?  Now all you're missing is two 380s.....only kidding, teasing ya.  Congrats on the whole layout and I agree the black screws are a definite must.

I did not realize that Farmingdale guns included two tone era. That, for me, makes one tone Farmingdale gun all the more precious as I do not like the two tone.

I have a two tone gun (R8XX) with CF grips that I am trying to have hard chromed to become a one tone gun.

Does anyone know how many one tone Framingdale guns were made? Obviously, factory made a decision early on (and a bad one in my view) to go two tone.

ACP,
I have it on good authority that there were only two ever made!  I think you used to have one but you sold it, bad move.  I've also got one and because there were only two made I am NOT going to sell it and you will need to pay my wife an awful lot of money for it when I am dead, begin to think six figures.

Sorry I lied, I don't have one and there was only one made, the one you sold.  I think it may be time for you to start a thread dedicated to the one tone holy grail of the R9.  You have posted 26 times in other threads your need for this gun and I for one am on the look out for you in hopes to secure this highly treasured model.  ;D  ;) ;D ;)

I can take the rub but mine was not the only one tone made. The frame was silver prior to the factory's decision to grey anodize the frame. If you don't believe me, ask those who have early one tone Farmingdale guns: Richard, tracker, Irish Guard, et al.

I did find it interesting, (and amusing), that I had posted that many times regarding the lament of my having sold my Farmingdale R9. I reiterate, when I sold my early Farmingdale gun, I did not know CF grips would be withdrawn, nor that one tone would no longer be optional.

Present goal is to follow with a metal finishing house on Monday, August 3rd to pursue hard chrome plating of my two tone R9. Once achieved, I will be happy and will not obsess as much over the loss of my Farmingdale gun.

Saw - Nice pics.  I have the stealth, R3801.  Wish I had the CF grips though.  Where you get yours?

Carbon Fiber grips are no longer available and is a "hot button" issue on this forum.

You will note that newly acquired guns posted on this forum, with Carbon Fiber grips, are previously owned guns and referred to as "early" when the factory provided Carbon Fiber grips as stock issue.

Read on.....There is plenty of dialog.
