Thank you Tracker for the post. Critical Defense ammo has been out for a while if I am correct in placing it in Glaser category. That stuff was big dollars years ago. God only knows what it costs now.

Also, happy about the Hornady .380 info. Teaching an old dog new tricks is a good thing.

ACP,

Critical Defense was new last year, as I recall, and was an evolution
of the LEVERevolution cartridge that redefined the effective range
of the 30-30. According to their website the muzzle velocity of the
9mm is 1140 fps and the .380 is 1000 fps.

Retail price is also about $1 per round.

right_to_bear_arms:

Welcome to the Forum and congratulations on your R9.

I, too, would advise you to avoid reloads and stay with premium commercial ammunition. Just don't load +P or +P+ ammo in the R9.

As for the initial break-in wear, that is normal. The material at this link may be of interest:

Good luck with your new masterpiece of form and function.

I will take the Hornady Critical Defense round at a $1.00 a round. The glaser round was $2 or $3.00 per round. Finding any of this stuff is a different matter.
