I'm glad I could bring this report to you. My car got STUCK on the crappy sand road to the range. I ALMOST decided never to go there again, but alas, I needed to try the new-to-me Stealth R9s out. I'll go to the over restrictive range next time where no double taps are allowed.
Ok, I know I "shot too many times" but here it is.
I shot about 40-45 Federal LE HST 124g (normal loading) - NO problems feeding or digesting these.
I shot about 30-35 Speer LE Gold Dot 124g (normal loading) - NO problems feeding or digesting these either.
10-15 WWB 124g - no feed problems.
The good: I shot VERY well with this gun. 4" plates at 20 yards. Very consistent. I did paint the front sight white with my next door neighbor's white nail polish. Very easy to pick up sight, and give great sight picture.
The bad: I didn't shoot my "main" piece near was well as the R9.
I've since blacked out the rear sights of my main piece to enhance front sight picture...it worked!!
The Questions:
1) Twice, early on (first 20 rounds), I had the trigger not return to position. (I forgot my hex head driver). Could this be the magazine wasn't in all the way? I had that happen once (2nd magazine I shot with it).
2) At about round 90 I had a light strike on one of my remaining two HSTs. I'm discounting this since it was the 3rd to last round I shot all day. Could this have been because by this time the gun was filthy?
Overall: EXCELLENT...I'm tickled pink, though my back is killing me from having to dig my car out of 12" of sand, hooking up the chain to tow me, and having to vacuum the car out!
Gun = GREAT, Range = Sucks!!
Gun cleaned: New spring installed, and I used the put spring in first method...barrel a little hard to slide in, but that technique is MUCH easier than the blasted channel-locks as I proved tonight.
