R9s Accuracy
« on: May 14, 2008, 05:46:08 PM »
New R9s owner here.  I'm wondering what experiences you guys have had with accuracy at about 20 feet.

I'm all over the place with mine.  I've only got about 50 rounds through it, but it is the worst 50 rounds I've ever shot.  I'm getting a 12 or 15 inch pattern.

I'm not a great shot, but have shot many types of handguns (including powerful small and light weight) and am wondering if these little guns ever have accuracy problems.

Thanks in advance for the info...

I think the R9 is quite accurate for what it is. You probably just need to get used to it; maybe experiment with your technique a bit.

HarryDog,

It very well may be my technique.  As I mentioned I am not a great shot.

I'm just wondering if the R9 has had any reported accuracy problems.

If so, I might consider the gun.

If not, I will (continue to) consider my technique.

Thanks.

Mine shot wonderfully and I have read very few reports of poor accuracy......

I figured it was probably me, but thought I'd check to see if there have been any reports on the R9.   I am accustomed to hitting where I aim--more or less.

I was a bit anxious shooting the tiny 9mm for the first time.  My Kahr PM9 has a pretty stout kick, but the R9 kicks quite a bit harder.

Guess I've got some practicing to do.  I will not rest until I get a one-inch seven-shot group at 100 yards... ;D

Just in case anyone read my thread and had concerns about R9 accuracy, it's clear to me now that the R9 is accurate and that I just need a bit more time getting used to it.

I fired a 3 inch group from 15 feet and a 2 inch group from 10 feet--both 7 shots, both without a rest.  Not bad for such a little gun and 50 year old eyes.

I'm still not real accurate at 20 feet, but I think I might get the hang of it soon...
