glaser ammo in the R9
« on: December 28, 2007, 09:33:30 PM »
Can you safely shoot glaser ammo in the R9? I know it's +p, but do the light bullets reduce the impact on the gun. I am currently shooting magtech 92 gr schp and I am concered about over-penentration in a crowded environment.

Welcome to the forum!!

+Ps are not recommended...

Safely shoot? Most likely,I don't think the pup will implode, but it is not meant for the +P or +P+..

.02 cents...

First, welcome to the Forum!

Second, I would not recommend loading the +P Glasers in your R9. Why push the envelope of this smallest and lightest of 9mm pistols when you can have such high performance with premium, standard-pressure, hollow-point ammunition such as Gold Dots, Silver Tips, or Golden Sabers (just to list three)? If over-penetration is a concern, I would go with one of the heavier and slower loads, such as the 147-gr. Remington Golden Saber BJHP.
