Revisions since the 1st batch of production
« on: May 16, 2005, 06:08:21 PM »

From reading the forum here the last few days, I learned a heck of a lot about my new gun; great gun, great forum, and great folks.

I am a little puzzled of how the Rohrbauchs managed to "tweak the production guns from time to time making little changes in how the pistols are made to correct problems as they are discovered" w/o adding revision notes or markings. And with the inconsequential serial number used during assembly, it would be hard to track which batch of guns were revved.

Whether significant or not, what kind of problems was discovered and what were the changes should be kept (and maybe shared?)

Thanks.

Don't know about "batch tweaking," but my R9s (the 28th gun made) had to go back for a stronger extractor spring to cure its FTE problems.  Don't know if this was a single-gun fluke or if it prompted the use, generally, of stronger springs.

I was told that they just made changes tohow the machines were programmed, making very small changes to how parts are cut here and there.  I don't see why that would require new markings, but I don't know what the law says.
