Hello! New member with a question
« on: December 27, 2004, 11:31:46 PM »
Howdy,

Just joined. I'm using the same username, "ddc", that I use at www.thehighroad.org, www.thefiringline.com, www.ar15.com and www.fnhipower.com in case anybody recognizes me.

Not like I need another place to hang out, I'm already challenged to spend time at thefiringline or fhhipower as it is, but this little pistol is really intriguing to me!

Question: I live in western Washington. Does anybody know of any dealers in the area, i.e. Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, anyplace on the west side of the Cascades for that matter, that would have an R9 (or R9S) in stock?

Thanks,
ddc.

Welcome, ddc - Finding a Rohrbaugh anywhere is a challenge right now. Your best bet, if you intend to purchase, is working the phones and the internet to try and find one. Otherwise you'll have to wait until about February or March for the pipeline to fill up again.

The Rohrbaugh factory was moved and upgraded so the set-up time has taken quite awhile. They are also trying to gear up for the SHOT show - after that it is full steam ahead!

Good luck with your search - should you ultimately decide to get this gun you will not be disappointed. And again, welcome to this forum, it is a great place with very knowledgeable members that are willing to share their insights and experience.

Welcome DDC from me too!  :)

THR eh?  Hmmm ... guess you are a lurker!! :P ;D  haven't seen you much.

That tho is incidental ... make this place a daily stopping point and try too to browse what is already here - it'll give you a good feel for this lil' pup!

Tho Eric is wicked busy - you could also try contacting him ... maybe, just maybe - he could point you in a useful direction.  Otherwise yeah - you may have to wait well into early summer I fear, once the team are back into full production again.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DDC - apolagies - I had not noticed your post on THR re the DAO BHP .. my bad!!  Oops!
Thanks for the welcomes and the tips. Yes, I didn't realize what a possibly nieve question I asked until I started poking around a bit.
Well, I can wait. I probably can't afford it now anyway. Heck, who am I kidding, I can't!
Chris: Yeah, I do a lot more lurking than typing. But just for context: I've been a member at THR for about two years now and belonged to TFL before that (actually still do, just hardly ever go there these days). I've got around 130 THR posts. Not many compared to you and a lot of the others I realize! I've never had the gift of gab I guess, either in person or online. I probably will be lurking around here as well at least until such a time as I pick up an R9/R9S.
See ya around... Thanks again!
Haha ... not such a bad thing perhaps.  I have maybe the opposite affliction ... ''keyboard diahorroea'' maybe?! LOL. ;D
Good to have you on board.
Addicted, yeah, I'm already half-way there and I've never even seen one except online and in magazines.
Having 9mm power in such a compact, sleek, package (that just plain screams quality by the way) is too much to ignore.
I really don't understand the people who are complaining about the price. People think nothing of dropping in excess of $1K (or $2k, $3k and even more) on a custom 1911. A stock 1911 from one of any number of sources can exceed $1K by a wide margin.
This is an item that is pushing the edges of the design envelope dictated by the current state of technology. Those sorts of things just don't come cheap. Doesn't matter whether your talking guns or computers or bicycles or pick your favorite hole to throw money into...
I agree 100% with the money ?..I know as I have been attracted to the HK P7 models,and have found a sudden attraction to the EBRs since the AWB has passed..
So as you can see,I have very little money but I do like the guns.. :D 8)
Once again - enjoy.. ;D
