Sig Sauer -- Exeter, NH
« on: August 06, 2010, 04:37:01 PM »
On my recent New England vacation, I visited with the fine folks up at the Sig Sauer factory and the Sig Academy.

Great facility and great people.  I didn't realize that 100% of my Sig 229 (less perhaps some small contract parts) was made right here in the USA by Americans.

A well running CNC factory is a sight to behold, for sure.

Anybody else here a fan of Sig Sauer guns?

Yes, however, don't have one.

I've got 5 or 6.  Good and dependable.

They don't get my heart pumpin like a top quality 1911 does -
or the best pocket rocket on the planet.

But I would love to vist Sig and the Academy.

I have a 229 SAS and just picked up a P6 that had been hard chromed.  Its going to become my truck gun.  In the next few weeks I will have a P226 Elite that I am going to use for IPDA.

I have a couple, but I'm giving up on them.  As much as I like them, I just don't have a purpose for them.

Aglifter.  Can't you have them just because you like them?  I know a purpose would be good, and maybe I should think that way.    :)

That is exactly why I keep mine, especially a 228 made in Germany with a superb trigger action job on it.

That's pretty cool, a German 228.

How old is it?

I have an early one, I assume, I got when  the prices where high and I guess it's American.
