I'll have to pass on that size, for sure.  None the less, very interesting!

Go to your local AMA flying field or local hobby shop. If you do want to get into it...it can be a blast. You can be flying a no frills easy to use electric trainer "ready to fly" with everything you need for about 4 to 5 hundred clams.

Only reason I had asked this question for the thread is that some of my "gun buddies" around my area are also avid RC types. Planes, helis and cars in that order. Like guns, this hobby can break the bank in about two seconds as well. The plane above could run as much as 10K depending on whats in it. The stuff these things can do is pure magic and down right uncanny at times. Being they have no live pilots, thier G maneuvers can exceed that of full scale aircraft. If the flying field in your area hosts an "IMAC" event...GO! Take your kids, grandkids, mother in law, whatever...you will not be disapointed.

I'll clam up now...

Sounds really good.   With these things, I guess you could make a crazy move and crash the plane.  I've always worried I'd problably do that on the first outing.

You would not believe the technology on trainers that they have now...get into trouble..?...just let go of the "sticks" and the plane "fixes itself"!

After flying as a private pilot now for about 15 years...these things are more fun in my opinion due to one gets to "see' what it is they are doing up there.

"KJ" - You in the Carolinas somewhere right...?

Yes, North Carolina.  I guess they would have some here that do that.  I'll have to look and see.

Never seen anything like that!  Those planes are something else and so many.  Thanks!

I even see a jet plane.

Oh yeah...jets galore....actual turbines in them now instead of "ducted fans" which are normal piston gas engines with high pitch fans inside a tube. Those were the normal way of RC jet propulsion all through the 90s.

Some of the 3D and unlimited type prop planes even have 200cc and larger 4 cylinder engines on them that exceed 20HP

I just found a site from your link, Nitroplanes.com., and I know there's more, I'm just getting into it.  This is really interesting.
