Plinking

I love my R9 for concealed carry, but was wondering what you all prefer as your "plinker of choice" and why. My S&W 22 revolver is far too loud and I value my hearing! The only thread I could find on the subject was Oct 17,2006 by Aglifter. Thanks in advance.

For quiet plinking off the back porch, this one is hard to beat -- and the neighbors don't complain 8) :

I like CCI's "CB Short" 22 subsonic ammo for plinking. It's so quiet that when I use the stuff to euthanize the coons raiding the birdfeeders (head shots do the trick EVERY time) the cat sitting next to me doesn't even look up at the gun when I fire it. Ordinarily shes tearing to the other end of the house in mortal panic when I use regular short, long or long rifle cartridges. When I discovered this ammo I sold my Beeman Fienwerkbau Air rifle, cause I just didn't need it any more.

Thanks, Shakermountain and Richard S for your advise. I'll probably try the 22 subsonics since I already own the gun.
