Reliability and date of manufacture / serial number range

I posted this question earlier, I realize in the wrong spot.
I have heard that late manufacture guns have been a tad more reliable than earlier ones.  I've had no issues with my 2014 beauty, and am looking for anothet.
Should I aim for manufacture after approximately X date, or after Y serial number range?
Input appreciated.
