GC - I like your training discipline and the way you think.

I second the comments of the distinguished gentlemen from Texas.

Shouldn't that be "Esteemed" gentleman?

As to the 2nd gun.  Good idea, but for now I gotta go one at a time.  There is one fellow I'm familiar with that recommends a minimum of 2 each, one for carry, the other in case you're ever involved in something and the police keep your's as evidence.  The thought being, you do not have to start over training on a new weapon.  Kinda makes sense to me.  I've only been able to do that with one gun for the moment.  The R9, still being new to me, will need to get comfortable with and be sure its what I'm looking for, before I run out and get another.  As noted, its not like the other pocket pistols out there and the Rohrbaugh  folks are pretty proud ($) of it.

You are correct, Rohrbaugh is proud of their puppy.  With good cause, I applaud.

I seems everyone has a Kel-Tec, or a Ruger LC_ or a little Taurus.  Are they the best?  Not by a longshot.  They are AFFORDABLE.    And, worth the money.  They are more like the Bronze medal.

If you want the coveted Gold, go Rohrbaugh!

But like anyone that has the Gold, it has it's price.

Thank you good Sirs.  Not only do I feel it is my duty to be proficient with my gun, it is also lots of fun to shoot them!

Yes, the 2nd gun, while a great idea in theory, will not happen for me any time soon.  If the R9 was a few hundred dollar cheaper, I would pony up the cash for another one.  That's one of the nice things about the KelTec pistols - cheap enough to buy a few for the cost of a R9, but nowhere near the level of out-of-the-box quality.  Had to spend a number of hours doing a "fluff-n-buff" on my P-32 to get it to a decent level of smoothness I liked.

I hope that I or any of you guys never have to draw your guns in defense, but if I do, I want the bad guy to run away so I don't have to shoot and potentially lose my R9.

Why can't people get it thru their heads? It's ammo ammo ammo.

So, are people not using 124g Gold Dots now?  The recommendation is for 147g?

Also, how many people use 124g Federal HST?

I am using 124gr. HSTs.  Seemed to impact a little closer to the point of aim than the gold dots.

Been using 124 and 147 Gold Dots and see little difference.  As for point of aim, at 7 yards I'm not exactly aiming...just want to keep the majority of the rounds in a 7" circle with rapid fire, but will certainly try out Ghost Chili's recommended HSTs...can't hurt to cut the circle to 5 inches.

I came across a procedure today as to how to test for reliability.  I started a new post at Reliability Testing prior to Carry http://www.rohrbaughforum.com/index.php?topic=6511.0
