WTB Special Farmie
« on: April 28, 2012, 09:47:43 PM »
My bother is starting to get into Rohrbaughs and I told him that I would try to help him find a special Farmingdale (they are all special - but I'm talking really special). Any unique Farmie with one or more of the following would be awesome: blue CF grips, R9s on slide, sliver frame, no R prefix etc. Please let me know if you have one you would consider selling.

Thanks Guys,
Ryan

They definitely are out there; problem is with the real early ones, folks don't want to sell.  However, things change, and maybe now some would.  Will give you a few leads and you can check them out.  Sending you a PM.    :)

Ryan, I know I have one. Have not seen it for a while. It is tucked away. I know it is in perfect condition and was an early R Farmingdale with blue grips, previously owned by a well known holster maker/member. Pretty gun.

Phil,

Nice to hear from you. I was lucky enough to get one of your beauties and if you decide to sell your other I am sure my brother would be happy to give it a good home. Just let me know. Hope that you are doing well.

Thanks for asking, I am doing OK, sliding backward a bit but I do not let it get to me. Spirits are good, may give going back to work a try come this summer, although every time I exert myself the following day I am a wreck, but I am going nuts not being involved somehow but even fishing hurts. When fishing hurts you know your in bad shape. Wife refuses to work so things are tight but keeping my head above water. I love women.
As I recall, the one I have is at least as nice as the one which you now have. I will give it some thought and refresh my memory on its condition and get back to you by Monday as long as your brother is serious. I have got to take a look at it and determine whether I will have to deal with a case of seller's remorse for several months. There is a little wear on the finish on the top of the lower rails as I recall otherwise close to perfect. I would say 1 box of ammo has been sent down the tube give or take a round or two.

Hello Phil, I thought I may introduce myself...I am the interested one in giving a special Farmie a good home. I have been browsing around and only seen a couple pop up here and there. If given the change again, I'd probably jump on it. I have also been learning a great deal from everyone on this forum and the more I read, the more I want one!

I am serious about picking up one of the rarer pups out there if there is a willing seller.

So, Id love to see what you may have. It would be something I would give a good home for sure.

Thanks,
Shane

Hey Shane, sorry I have not replied yet. I have not had time to go to safe. Been dealing with doctors and testing and feeling like crap. Next week I have a series of shots on Wednesday. I promise to get you pictures of the one I have. Be patient if you can, it is a real nice piece. It was previously owned by one of the best holster makers out there who is a member here. It was well taken care of and has had very few rounds put down the tube. My email is phsimone@comcast.net. I check that more often than the forum especially lately.
I will be in touch, Phil
PS, I believe my rep here is pretty good. Not selling because I need the money, just another thing to dispose of down the road. Will be looking to recoup my investment.
