Love the signs…I would just urge caution on what you actually post on your property…  In the unfortunate circumstance that you find yourself in a situation where you have to actually protect yourself or your family by using deadly force, some prosecutor somewhere will exploit the posting of such signs as a premeditated intent to do harm to those who would trespass against you…wrong, I know, but I do believe that is reality.   Just my $.02

I believe you are correct about the sign posting. Everyone who plans on defending themselves should belong to the Armed Citizens Network.

AT is correct on the importance of not posting a sign that would come back to haunt the owner in event of a self-defense shooting. Some of the signs are humorous, such as the one announcing that "survivors will be shot again," but they would be fodder for the prosecution or plaintiff in after-event litigation -- criminal or civil.

I personally have not posted either our home or our weekend cabin with signs indicating the presence of firearms. As I see it, such signs might encourage a home invasion by some "BGs" looking for guns whenever the premises appeared to be uninhabited. Signs warning about alarm systems, however, are a different matter.

It goes without saying that a high-end, fire-rated gun safe internally bolted to the floor of each residence provides great piece of mind.

Like reading the signs, however, AT and RS make good points on not posting such signs on one's property; certainly don't want to advertise your advantage, so to speak.  I do post the Alarm signs at our residences, both front and back.

I like the thought of gun safes at each place of residence; good idea.

No signs on my property or on my car and I never wear a hat or coat with a gun maker logo on it, I want to keep the element of surprise on my side at all times. ;D

i agree with some of the other members here: while these are fun to read, don't actually think about posting anything like this. in the event of an honest self-defense shooting, they would surely be used against you.

I believe the same to be true of certain magazine subscriptions...I buy Combat Handguns off the shelf for example.  Shame it's that way.  I do use security system signs in front and back, and a No Trespassing or Soliciting sign midway down my driveway.

As for humorous signs, if any of you have seen the movie, Second Hand Lions, those gents had some pretty good warning signs posted along their driveway...
