Exactly what tool do you use to remove screws

Ordered a new set of grips from VZ and in anticipation noticed the grip screws on my pup look a bit different from what I've seen before...Just thought I'd ask you pro's in advance of fumbling thru my toolbox...thanks!!

New screws come with the VZ grips, however, you may want to consider ordering some ButtonHead screws from yankee2500.  A Forum member had 3 of the 4 VZ screws strip out and has now replaced the stripped screws with yankee's (John's).  John's ButtonHeads are in the classifieds.

I use a top-of-the-line 1/16" screwdriver hex key (sometimes referred to as  a 0.063 Allen wrench) for the job.  Here's a link to one source for such a tool:

I believe Home Depot stocks Husky and Klein hex drivers and Lowe's has Kobalt. I've not used any of them, however, and therefore am not qualified to comment on their quality.

You want to purchase a quality allen wrench. The problem with the cheap ones is they will start to round over on the corners and then cause the screw head to round out.

I was never able to find a tool as pictured above at Lowe's or HD. However, as recommended in a thread on the forum, I tried a local hobby shop - which specializes in RC cars & planes - and found the tool for around $12.00. I can testify that I absolutely could not remove the grip screws with any of my Allen wrenches (without rounding off the heads) but they were no match for the 1/16" long handled hex driver. Try a hobby shop.
