Nice paint job, Rick.  Looks good!  I like that car, too!   :)

Hey Rick,
Really nice "look". I think that's a R9s Stealth Elite you've painted sights on...am I correct? If so, same as mine. I agree that sites are good, as it can be difficult to pick up the front site on a dark slide. How did you do such a great job on the paint? And what color(s) would you use again if you were painting another black slide? Thanks for the input.

I've had Nitesighters on my Pup since a month after I bought it back in '07, and changed them only once in that time. I machined dimpled recesses into the sight bosses on mine (a very tricky job that I'm proud to say came out well - but this is not a project for the inexperienced, or faint of heart) and installed them using a tiny dot of  super glue and needle-sharp tweezers. When the R9 is left on the bedside stand for awhile with the reading light on they stay charged thru the night. If I were ever to need the gun in a pinch when still half asleep and doped up on adrenalin  I'd MUCH RATHER have these than not, as I can now whip the gun off the table and have it lined up exactly on the door in one easy sweep. The sight bosses simply will not accept available tritium capsules, so I've found these to be the best solution for me. Easy on, easy off, and they stay put til I take 'em off.

STILL would rather have Crimson Trace Grips. Any who agree should see that thread in this forum to sign up with CT as being interested. We'll soon live in a world where your pup can paint your target without you having to paint it.

I used some blue painters tape to get the lines where I wanted them, and am happy with the colors.

My R9 is a standard stealth, would like an Elite though.

Great job, indeed. I can take out your gallbladder and attach it to your head, but I'm a little scared at the thought of irreversibly putting graffiti on my new pup.

I my inquire at my local gun shop to see what their experience with this has been. I like the Elite look, the black and stainless slide have a great appeal. But they are all nice, unique, and in a lot of ways each a collectors item.

Thanks for the input, Rick. Have a Good Labor Day Weekend.

Just to update: after 4 weeks of nothing showing up and multiple unanswered emails, I had PayPal issue a refund. To be fair though, they have added a disclaimer to web site that they are owned by a military family who are currently overseas and they have contracted a shipper to run the business while they are away. No hard feelings I wish them well.

Paint might be the way to go but I'm always trading my guns around and currently have an itch for another Robar R9. When you trade around enough you always want what you used to have  ;D

Thanks for all the input gentlemen
