"coclimber" is short for Colorado climber. I like doing 14er-peaks (14,000 feet+; 57 in Colorado), but do a touch of "sport" top-rope rock climbing... 5.8 is my limit so far. I'll never attempt "traditional" climbing, though; too old.
If I am not mistaken, the North America Wall on El Capitan is classified as a 5.8 climb. That, my new Forum colleague, "ain't too shabby."
Personally, I had to scale back when I lost the first digit of my right ring finger in a bit of "unpleasantness" some years ago. However, I still enjoy taking on a good steep rock now and then, and one of my grandsons is well on his way to becoming a truly
serious climber.
Welcome again to the Forum. I think you will find it to be a knowledgeable and collegial group around this campfire.
