Greetings from Florida
« on: November 11, 2008, 11:01:30 AM »
Just joined your group after lurking for a while.  Wanted to say thank you for all the great info & input.  My wife & I just purchased our R9S's and are on the great holster hunt.  We have not carried for many years and our original carry weapons were stolen in a burglary along with their holsters.  So it is a new beginning for both of us as the offering of holsters has exploded so greatly.  Personally I feel that sob is most comfortable for me, but my wife has objections after the 'danger' stuff she has been reading.  Any input or ideas for either of us will be appreciated.  Again, thanks for being there to all of you!

Welcome to the forum. When all is said and done, IMHO, Thunderware (also marketed as Smart Carry) is the way to go.

Thanks for the welcome.  I have now ordered the IWP from Hidden Holsters for myself, but my wife has been looking seriously at the Smart Carry.  I personally don't see how it will be comfortable.  However, she has showed me many raves regarding the SC and it will be her call.

All,

I have posted similar before and I know this does not set well with some here but, after trying different ways I have foregone an IWB holster totally.  I am lucky as I have the perfect combination of pant, belt and gut that my R9 stays tucked in my belt with no holster at all.  I guess I have a true "belly gun".  I also strap one(R9) on my ankle.  Hey, police carry 2 guns don't they?  Good enough for them, good enough for me.
The R9 is the first gun that is not to big and not to small and is smooooooth enough to allow this no holster IWB carry.

I got the IWB from Hidden Holsters and love it.  The service from Jim is top notch.

Welcome to the Forum, and good luck on your search for the right holsters for you and your wife. Meanwhile, this photograph of a Hedley Limited Edition is just to whet your appetite:  8)

I have an HBE Pro TL Tuckable (as well as a HH pocket holster).  Both are excellent.

Do you have the loops or clip? If loops, are they snap on or sewn? Single or double? I am very interested in the HBE Pro Tuckable.

Thanks,  Benjamin

I spoke to Eric at HBE holsters, who, by the way is great to work with. The HBE Tuckable TL only comes with the metal clip. It is 1 1/4 inches wide.
