By the way, how are you doing with that adjustable rear sight, on your R9.  I love the ability to fine tune it.  I have mine sighted for 100 yards, and the 'scope mount is on the way.  3 - 9 X 50mm Leupold.  For some reason I had a hard time getting Eric to make it for me.  But I have to admit, the "full melt" option was very well done when he was through. The man is an artist.

pretty dam sweet i wouldnt want the ports but dam that 40lpi on it gives me a chub

i posted a thread in the gunsmithin area asking if anyone could or has already has put a tritium vial in the front sight of the R9s but no replies as of yet

i would love to have a front night sight on my R9s  thats about the only work i want done of my R9s

I still cant get over how accurate the R9s is for such a small pistol

That really is stunning!  I have hardly gotten over the fact that I now own one.  I have been trying to find one here in California for almost five years.  I finally got one last week!  I know there are fewer than five in the entire state.

Right now I am just going to hold it for a bit, but that checkering...........

Actually,  I think having a stealth with white or day-glo yellow paint on the front sight is all you need during daylight hours.  At night, well, I hope I'm in a somewhat lighted area.    As for rear sights, I'm beginning to believe that having two dots in the rear takes way too much attention off the front sight (for me).

I thought of putting glow-paint on the R9, but never got around to it.  I'd be interested in knowing if anybody else has done that procedure.

In spite of my kidding about the ‘scope mount', and at risk of putting words in Karl or Eric’s mouth, in talking with them the original design Karl generated had no sights.  Similar to all Seecamps.  His feeling appears to be that this should be the ‘ultimate point and shoot device’.  I feel that if you practice “point shooting” you will find your R9 does a great job of this at its intended range, 3 – 15 feet.  Also the bulk of these “opportunities” occur in dark or near dark.  If you can, try to find a range that will allow practice in these twilight situations.  It is really different than standing in daylight blasting at a target 7 feet away.  I love sight aids, and have several lasers, on handguns, but they are primarily “house guns” just to get me to a long gun.  They do generate confidence, but I have some concern about relying on them, Murphy seems to work overtime in my life.  Point shooting may save your life, and it is stone reliable.  That said, aids are always good!

I recently picked up one of the Mag extensions from IDM www.idmparts.com and it works great.  This is their picture:



I can now shoot my pup like a target pistol.  It gives me a much better positive grip on the gun and I no longer have the bite I would experience without it.  I put 100 rds of WWB down range the other day without a problem.  Before I would usually shoot 2-3 mags at the most.

I will probably try the hooked one next time.  He is out at the present time.  Best upgrade I made on the pup.  Now I'm thinking about the Aluminum grips and I sure do like the checkering on the frame.  We'll see......
