Broke Down and now.....
« on: September 15, 2008, 12:16:04 PM »
I'm also a new R9s owner.  Saw one this weekend and had to have it after I picked it up and the trigger pull is very sweet.  I'll be sending one of my Colt Pocket Nines out to Cylinder & Slide for some trigger and cosmetic work, but if this thing is as reliable with the right ammo as I hear, it may be just what I was looking for.

Won't be shooting it until next Sun, but was gonna start with WWB, Speer 124 gr Gold Dots, and maybe some Winchester Silvertips.  Those sound about right?

Anyone ever directly compare the two in a longer term side by side comparison?

Slick, Welcome to the forum. sounds like a good plan. Take it slow and easy, watching what you and the pup are doing. It should do just fine.  Tom

Slick, welcome to the forum.  From an ammo standpoint you are on the right track.  I have a 100% success rate with Speer GDHP in both 115 grain/124grain and the Winchester Silvertips.  Winchester White Box also worked well for me.  Enjoy your Sunday outing.

Welcome to the forum!

Your ammo choices are right on. You'll find the Pup is a whole lot of fun to shoot. Like you, once I handled the R9 I had to have one, and have been very happy with it.
