RP 1 of 16
« on: April 28, 2008, 05:58:28 PM »
I've had my new pup for a couple of months now.  Like a fine piece of jewerly it stays in the safe.  I had every intention of shooting it until I saw the serial number on the box.  I do own a regular R9S which sees a lot of action.
I own a bunch of 1911 .45's from Ed Brown to Wilson Combat.  The RP is every bit of the description "fine jewerly" -even in that company.

Now all someone has to do to see the pics, is to teach me how to post a pic from my computer.

dbw,
Welcome to the forum!!!

As far as pics go,go to Photobucket,or another free service,and load your pic from your puter.
Then copy the IMG url from the service and click the forums "insert image" function..

Should be a pic before ya know it!!

Awaiting pic!!

Once again,Welcome...

dbw:

Congratulations on acquiring a real work of art!

To shoot it or not to shoot it. Aye, that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler to leave that joy to an heir or assign or reserve it unto yourself. . . .

(I know what my answer would be.  ;) )

Good luck!

Richard, your a poet  :)

If you have another R9 to shoot I guess I can see saving the rare one, but then again 1 of 16 was shot at the factory so a few more rounds...

And besides, in the words of The Rubaiyat:

LXIII

Oh, threats of Hell and Hopes of Paradise!
One thing at least is certain--This Life flies;
One thing is certain and the rest is Lies;
The Flower that once has blown for ever dies.

Shoot it!   8)

I took everyone's advice and put 20 rounds down range.  I quickly disassembled and cleaned and returned to my safe.   ;D Maybe my own opinion but even smoother than my Stealth.  I know the price was extreme and in all actuality all I got was a polished stealth.  But I love that carbonfiber and the polished surfaces.  With all the polished surfaces you can really appreciate all the work that goes into each pistol.  Compared to the lofty prices of custom 1911's, the Rohrbaughs are actually a steal.

Beautiful indeed. I do believe it is smoother than your stealth.  All the internals are polished and extreme care went into mating the parts. I'm glad you shot the gun. Dan
