stealth or elite
« on: April 17, 2008, 09:17:52 PM »
Hello gents- Been lurking for a bit. I hang out at Seecamp alot but am loking forward to contributing here too.

I'm saving for an R9. I want to carry it in a owb holster w/ athumb break.

I love the look of the stealth and the elite but can't decide on which one to buy. Is there any advantage to pay more for the elite?

Can you get a custom s/n like the seecamp?

Thanks in advance Eddie

Bought time you joined up!  Glad to see you here.  My classic answer..............GET BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!  I don't know about the serial number bit, I read on an old old entry that one fellow ordered a custom serial number back in 2004, but I don't know if that was for real or not.
Good luck with the choices ;D

Eddie,

Welcome here and to the future pup!!

There are 2 I believe, with a custom #,I don't know for sure that they are not able to do so now,but understood not..

I will be dissapointed that I never asked if this is so!! :o

Having never held the Elite model,I cannot say about them, but the stealth is very nicely done.. 8)

Welcome again,

Brenden

eddie, the Elite has a little more polish work done ie: sides of slide. Each person needs to decide what look they like and how much they want to pay. Tom

I just picked up a Stealth on Wednesday and could not be happier.... ;D

I guess since no one was going to see it but me, I didn't need the tutone finish or anything too fancy and everything goes with basic black.  ;)

I was faced with the same decision but between the 2 tone R9 and the Elite.  I personally prefer the non-all black look.  After researching a bit and realizing that the Elite was almost all cosmetic, I decided against it.  Another decision was pricing.  Everyone quoted me full MSRP for the Elite and the 2 tone standard R9 could be had for a better price.  I guess its a supply vs demand thing, or that the new models are perceived by the dealers to be hotter than sliced bread.

R9 2 tone for me.

Now awaiting holsters for the beauty.  Good luck with your decisions.   Let us know how things work out.
