Militec Range Report
« on: September 16, 2007, 10:26:31 PM »
I recently purchased the trial pack (lube, grease, applicator) from Militec after reading many good reviews.  My stealth pup had functioned flawlessly through 107 rounds with standard cleaning and oil application.  Today, I applied the Militec-1 lubricant product as described on their website (shooting is required to heat the product for bonding).  Upon shooting, I experienced at least 2-3 failures to feed or double feeds through 4 magazines.  I was becoming quite frustrated and went through all the regular checks (grips screws, etc.) to make sure I wasn't missing something.  I decided to clean the gun again to remove as much of the lubricant as possible.  I then applied the Militec grease out of curiosity.  The pup shot flawlessly through 3 magazines!  I'm not really sure what this means, but thought I would mention it to see if anyone else had experienced a similar problem/issue.  I will go out again next weekend to see if I can obtain similar results.  Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Follow-up: ONLY Militec grease, that was applied after the previous shooting session, and normal daily carry when I headed out to shoot today.  Shot 2 magazines without problem.  I will repeat this cycle again to make sure that the grease will hold up over time.  Hopefully this will help someone else down the road.

Glad to hear your pup funcioned better! Rohrbaugh no longer requires grease to even be used because too many were putting it on too thick.  They now say any good oil will be fine.
