R9S #2
« on: August 13, 2006, 12:35:37 AM »
Well Guys,

I have my name in for a R9S from Arigo's which should arrive in "a couple of weeks".  Arigo's does not take deposits and when a new batch arrives from Rohrbaugh they call everyone on their list and it is first come first served.  This gun should be identical to my present R9 except instead of the Carbon Fiber grips it will have the G10 grips.  Arigo's said thay had some "refurbished" R9's but I decided to go with a brand new one.

I will let you know how this one performs on the range.  For all those who have been keeping track, it couldn't be as finicky as my first one, right!?.

This gun is so good that I couldn't pass up getting another one before something weird happens like Rohrbaugh goes bankrupt or someting else that would preclude me from getting another one.

Would it be paranoid of me to carry one R9 on my ankle and another tucked in my belt???

Mike, what ever you need to do to balance yourself is good.
If something happens and you miss getting one from Arigos let me know I have some in stock.

I have two R9s also.  It is a habit of mine.  If I find something I really like I may get a backup (or two).    R9s, Seecamps, Surefires, and etc.

Absolutely not, that is a very good setup.

Absolutely not! That's just great preparedness. One thing I like about ankle-carry is the availability when driving. I've ankle carried some small revos that worked okay but I would think the R9 is perfect for that due to its size and weight.

Do any of our crafstmen here make an ankle holster for the pup?

I can't think of anything better for a BUG - than another primary!!  Ideal for interchangablility - mags in particular.

My EDC is big - the 226 ST but the R9 is by far my favorite bug, and as per at a recent wedding, my pocket primary :)

The best ankle holsters I have used are made by Lou Alessi, but I don't know if he makes them for the Rohrbaugh.

Ron Graham used to make an ankle holster for the Rohrbaugh based on Alessi's design but with a thumb break retention strap.  It was available through Rohrbaugh's website, but no longer is.  It is still pictured on his website, but I don't know if he still makes them.  In all likelihood, he'd make one if someone wanted one.
