Concern over mag spacer?

When looking at my 380 mags I noticed of course that there is a mag spacer as the same mags are used for the 9mm.  I must also say I have not fired my R380 yet.  

But loading up the mag the 380 rounds sit approx 1/8" to 3/16" farther forward in the mag then a 9mm round would.  I noticed when I stripped the mag removing the 380 rounds the next round pushed up seemed to slide forward approx 1/8" or every time.  It just seems that since the round is not seated at the back of the mag it does not seem to hold it very well.  

Obviously this only affects the top round in the mag as the rounds underneath the top are all held in place just fine by the front of the mag.  Maybe I'm just being goofy and there is absolutely nothing to worry about...I don't know.  Has anyone else noticed this or asked this question before?  Or does anyone have any experience with other firearms that have effectively used a spacer in the mag?  I know the Seecamp has a spacer, but it is a very thin strip of metal that only prohibits the use of normal FMJ (not a change in caliber like we have with the Rohrbaugh).

I had the same question when I looked at my mags, and no failures of any kind so far with 50 rounds of ball ammo, and critical defense ammo from Hornady.

I like the Critical defense ammo. it shoots accurate, and no problems(other than finding it to buy)

The question on the first round position in the mag that
you mentioned has come up before on the R9. That is normal
and is not a problem. It bothered me at first, too.

Bob 79,  If I have not already done so, Welcome to the Forum.  The mags for the 380 and the R-9 are not the same mags with a spacer.  The top of the can is cut different and  the springs are different . The spacer allows the mag to fit in the frame without a major frame change.  Alot of time was put into getting the mags right.  So far they work great.  Dan
