lube feedback?
« on: September 08, 2006, 09:26:01 PM »
seen many posts on lube mobil 1, militec, etc...and the concerns about silicone in super lube...
for those trying other than the recommended super lube...
have you begun to
notice any unusual wear on inspection?
seems the militec grease would be great...but
waiting on the voice of experience.

I use Ballistol for general cleaning and lubrication and a touch of SuperLube on the slide rails.

I have mentioned before - that I have moved away from slide rail greasing - but use grease in all other recommended spots.  I know I am going against the printed data from Bros R - but will bet I suffer no wear ill-effects.

As a result of this the gun will be (even) more carefully cleaned and re-lubed, with Militech1 for rails.  If it has not seen ''action'' in some while it will get a fresh (tho small) application of Militech and be wiped down for any excess.

My criterion is being able to detect a visible film of slide lube.  I only shoot mine sporadically these days - a routine few rounds and clean up.

Richard,
Do you use Ballistol diluted or full strength?
