I have not looked into this but I wonder how this gun will be a legal.  At 55 cal it is too big to be a legal (for US) centerfire and with a short barrel I don't see how is not a short barrel shotgun.  Does anybody know if the barrel is rifled?   I really don't know why I even care?

I have read that it is legal and trying to find that answer where I read it, as I knew this would be asked.  So will post when I find it.  It does have something to do with the twist that makes it legal.

That's what happens when you rush the introduction of a product and don't do you homework first.  :o No big loss from my prospective.

Considering that development, one has to wonder how they got that prototype through Customs. I would expect that all of this is going to reflect adversely on someone's "efficiency report" at Taurus.

Wouldn't you think they would ask first? But, like some one said you ask three BATF Agents and there are three different answers, but still......

They can still sell them to many places that don't have our (USA) B.S. laws restricting our freedoms.

Corey.  I stand corrected.  No wonder I couldn't find where I read it was legal; not there any more.    :)

GunsAmerica is now reporting that BATFE has cleared the thing for production. This is from their e-mail today, reprinted in greater detail under the SHOT Show thread in The Water Cooler -- General Discussions section:

PSS: The Taurus 28 gauge pistol drama continues. We have lit the article back up as it appears BATFE has now decided to allow them to make the revolver.

Has Vegas announced any odds on the final outcome of this drama?    ;)

It will still be months/years until you can get your hands on one is my guess...
